Most of my pottery is thrown on a wheel and made out of porcelain clay. I had always been interested in potter, but didn't take my first class until I was out of school.  I have attended numerous workshops and short courses in various aspects of pottery making wherever my travels have taken me. I am currently a member of the Brooklin Pottery Coop, a communal clay studio. I typically begin my work on the wheel and then often alter the thrown vessels by piercing and excising to reveal an image in shallow relief. I draw my inspiration from the native flora that inhabits the coast of Maine and find connection and pattern in its beauty.
